A Walkable Community and Safe Streets Forum.  “The General Theory of Walkability” a TED talk by Jeff Speck, Urban Planner and Architect will be presented to provoke a conversation about the difficult problem of making a suburb safe for people of all ages to walk more.  The Hon. Valerie Cartright, Town Council District 1 will introduce the panel that includes Ann S. Fangmann, AICP, Director of Programs, Sustainable Long Island and Nancy McLinskey, M.D. Neurologist at Stony Brook, Co-sponsored with Sidewalks for Safety, a local pedestrian safety advocacy group. Free and open to all.  Refreshments will be served.
