The Bruce House has been …refreshed! New landscaping, plantings and lattice work. (Thanks to Michael Rosengard, Ann Robitsek, Peter Legakis and others!) This work is in addition to the recent painting of the doors, windows and trim. And a new porch. We are looking Good!
And get this – we are now OPEN on Thursday mornings from 9:30am-11:30am and Friday afternoons from Noon-3:00pm. Stop by to say hello! Chat with our volunteer staff. Sit and stay for a while!
And there is a new look to the Trust’s Board Room!

Architectural Digest has nothing on us! The Trust’s Board Room has a brand new look. And it’s Great. Thanks to our ‘interior designer’ team of Chris Wasko, Michael Rosengard, Ann Robitsek, Carol McGowan, and Joanne Touch.

The Setauket to Port Jefferson Station Greenway received some extra attention in May during the Annual Great Brookhaven Cleanup. The Trust’s stewardship of the Greenway depends on the hard working and dedicated ‘Green Team’ – pictured on the next page. Note: Charlie McAteer heads up the Friends of the Greenway, an arm of the Trust!

Peconic Land Trust, the Trust and Town Discuss “Protecting the Places You Love”

The well-respected architect and preservationist John Cunniffe (JD8 Design Services) recently brought together representatives of the Peconic Land Trust, the Three Village Community Trust, and Brookhaven Town for an informative and instructional workshop focused on ‘protecting the places you love.’ Both John and the Peconic Land Trust shared their knowledge and experience establishing ‘façade easements.’ Essentially, a façade easement is deed amendment used by a property owner to prevent their home from being razed or significantly altered by a future owner.
The Trust’s Stony Brook Train Station Beautification Project Continues!

There are so many dedicated volunteers helping to beautify the Stony Brook Train Station! Emily Riley and family are Dynamos, Steve Antos and Setauket Landscape and Design are ‘Muscle and Might,’ Stony Brook School students are a Force of Many, Michael Rosengard is an Army of One. And that’s just some of the names of those transforming our transportation hub! Thank You!!
The Trust’s Memorial Day Watch Zone

Trust Headquarters was a perfect place to watch this year’s Memorial Day Parade!

Kudos to Setauket’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3054 for their Amazing parade!!
