January 2026
Volume 3 Issue 1

We know you’re busy, so rather than sending you a newsletter with a lot of text, please take a look at our latest ‘Photo-Letter’ – a ‘snapshot’ of happenings to keep you informed and up-to-date on the Trust.

The Trust wishes you and your family a wonderful 2026!

A Shout Out to Cub Scout Pack 354

Kudos to Pack 354 – the Scouts were out and about doing another one of their cleanups of the trail. Cub Scout Pack 354 has proven to be a hardworking, dedicated group of Trail Stewards. We are appreciative of their work – and their leadership team in ‘leading the way’ in community service!

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive

To all of those who contributed to our Thanksgiving Food Drive – Thank You! We received boxes and boxes of food – all of which was donated to the Trust’s Little Food Pantry and the St. James Catholic Church’s Food Pantry.

Our Winter Coat Drive

The freezing temperatures of December were made a little bit warmer by the dozens and dozens of coats donated during our Annual Winter Coat Drive. It was an overwhelming response by our community to help those in need. Visit our website (threevillagecommunitytrust.org) to see some of those who benefited from your donations. It’s heartwarming.

Mrs. Claus visits the Stony Brook Train Station

The community gathered at the Stony Brook Train Station to celebrate the most recent art installation by Michael Rosengard, titled Mrs. Claus is coming to Town. As part of the Trust’s Station Beautification Project, the art installation is one part of the on-going effort to improve the station’s grounds: including community clean-ups, plantings, and special programs.

The ‘Big Three’ elected officials of our community meet with Mrs. Claus.

Mrs. Claus enters the names of all good boys and girls into her Noel Notebook.

Artist Michael Rosengard and his daughters gather around Mrs. Claus.

Dave Prestia/Bagel Express sponsored the event!

Bench Dedication on the Greenway

The Trust helped facilitate the installation of a bench on the Greenway that now honors the memory of Andre Bermudez. The dedication of the bench near the former Lawrence Aviation site was a well-attended event – demonstrating the support and love so many people held for Andre and his family.

Annual Membership Drive – Now in Progress

The Trust is now entering its twenty-third year of “Protecting the Places You Love!” Our success over the past decades of caring for some of the oldest and most iconic properties in the Three Villages has only been possible because of people like YOU! With your help, we will continue to protect and preserve the community you love.

Our all-volunteer organization relies heavily on memberships for the funding needed to maintain our “museum collection” of historical homes and sites like the 3.2 mile Setauket to Port Jefferson Greenway, Patriots Rock, the Smith/de Zafra House – Brookhaven’s first Town Hall- and the grounds of the Stony Brook Train Station.

At this time, we hope you will continue to support of the Trust by renewing your membership. (And if you are not a member – please join us!)
